An Angel Lily Christmas – 2024

An Angel Lily Christmas was started in memory of Lily Lynette after she was murdered and severely sexually abused on November 20, 2010. Her Stepmother is spending the rest of her life in Prison with no chance of parole. At the funeral the priest said “This was not God, this was EVIL, as he looked at Lily’s father. He then turned to Lily’s mom and said, “You now have a mission in life, that is to go out and save other children in Lily’s name.” That is where Justice for Lily started.

These pictures were taken the night before she was killed and serve as a reminder of the love she had for Christmas and others. It is our hope that we can bring that love and magic of Christmas morning to 250 other children who have been abused and neglected.

It is our mission to help abused or neglected children. At Christmas time we get a list of foster children from DHS. The state of Michigan gives each foster parent approximately $25.00 per child to buy Christmas gifts. Most of the time these children have been taken from their homes with just the clothes on their backs. Their lives have been far from easy. We want to show them that they matter and that there are people who care about them.

After receiving the list of foster children from DHS we contact their foster parents and get each child’s wish list for Christmas. We ask for clothing sizes that are needed and wish list items. We then ask for help from our supporters by becoming sponsors. We ask our sponsors to spend at least $100 to help fill the child’s wish list. When the sponsor returns the gifts to us, we inventory them to compare to siblings in the home. We want each child to have the same amount to open on Christmas morning. We then go out and shop for the rest of the list (within reason, no iPads, gaming systems, etc.). Each child gets a blanket and a bag (duffle, luggage, or backpack) to carry their personal belongings in. We also accept monetary donations to be used to supplement gifts to fill the child’s wish lists. Lastly, we accept donations of new/unopened rolls of wrapping paper. We provide each foster parent with a roll of wrapping paper to help. If you would like more information, please email justiceforlily@hotmail.com God Bless you!
