A June 27 pretrial is set in Macomb County Circuit Court for a woman accused of killing her 2-year-old stepdaughter in New Haven in November.
Renee M. King, 29, waived arraignment Monday on charges of first-degree murder and first-degree child abuse.
She is accused in the death of Lily Furneaux-Wolfenbarger, who suffered a blow to the head Nov. 20.
King is being held in the county jail on a $1-million bond.
Child abuse is 100% preventable. Not a single child ever needs to die as a result of child abuse or neglect ever again. One of the greatest things we can do to reduce and eliminate child abuse and neglect is to raise awareness and provide support to fellow parents. Research has shown that parents are more likely to abuse their children when they feel isolated or feel they have no support.
